Bayliss Boatworks construction update: Bayliss 75'
by Bayliss Boatworks 7 Aug 2020 16:02 UTC
The last month was an eventful one for Bayliss 75' as well. After installing three layers of bottom planking, followed by three layers of side planking, our Hull Carpentry Crew celebrated placing the final plank on the hull with our ceremonial "whiskey plank."
With this benchmark under their belts, the crew turned their attention to fabricating and installing the bow thruster tube and transducer box. In early August, the planking screws will be removed and filled, then cut and sanded smooth, before turning the boat over to our Paint Crew for glassing and fairing.
On the cabin, the flybridge was set into place and the two components were faired together seamlessly. The hand rail was fabricated, faired, and is currently undergoing rounds of sanding. The center console was also positioned into place on the flybridge, where it will transition into final primer with the rest of the cabin.
