Gypsea (Bayliss 62') is coming right along. In late February, our mechanical crew installed her forward fuel tank.
With the forward fuel tank installed, machine tunnel buildout and framing progressed quickly. Our crew is currently fabricating the windlass and bow-thruster battery box, holding tank, and water tank. Chases are being designed and laid out in the pump and engine room areas, while hull-side insulation is being installed.
Our design department is focusing on equipment placement as we get closer to our initial system installations. Gypsea's main mechanical components will include twin V12 MAN 1550 engines, two 25kw Northern Lights generators, and a Seakeeper 9. Her total fuel capacity will be 1,750 gallons.
Over the next month, the lazarette area will begin to show progress, with the installation of both the gyro surround and bulkhead. We are currently developing the salon deck frame, and the pump shelf and engine room will progress into buildout this month. The hull construction team is focused on getting this build ready for top coat in the machine tunnel, lazarette, and engine room. In April, we look forward to Gypsea's engine installation!
