The 2022 Hamble Classics Regatta is to be co-hosted by Hamble River Sailing Club and the Royal Air Force Yacht Club on 10th-11th September, the seventh edition of this popular classic yacht event.

Commenting on the event's second visit to the RAFYC (first time was in 2019 with 56 yachts racing), Hamble Classics organiser Jonty Sherwill said: "We are looking forward to the shared hosting by these two great clubs and to welcoming the usual strong showing of pre-1971 designed classic yachts, International Metre yachts, old gaffers and modern classics. Competition should be strong for our four Concours d'Elegance awards and we hope that the recent upsurge in the Folkboat and Dragon classes will continue along with the 6-Metres and XODs. Other classic one-designs are also welcome.

With the RAFYC's enviable riverside location for après sail and HRSC's proven track record of race management, next year's Hamble Classics will build on the active cooperation already established between the two clubs led by Commodores Andy Valentine and Steph Merry, who commented: "Both our clubs are looking forward to hosting the Hamble Classics and celebrate the long history of yachting in the River Hamble with well run racing by HRSC and a warm welcome for visiting crews at the RAFYC."
