Pelagic Risk Services commits support to the Marina Industry as MIA Silver Sponsor

Pelagic Risk Services is the latest business to commit its support to the marina industry through its investment in Silver Sponsorship of the Marina Industries Association (MIA).

Pelagic provides insurance brokerage to a broad range of businesses, with a with a particular interest and expertise in the marine industry. Working closely with marina owners and operators, they tailor the most appropriate, competitive, and comprehensive suite of marina insurance policies to suit the unique needs of each business. On announcing this new MIA Partnership, Suzanne Davies, MIA CEO said, "It is great to have such genuine support for industry, Pelagic understands that the stronger the industry body, the greater support it can provide to help marinas manage their risk through the provision of education, information and programs. The Pelagic team recognise the insurance challenges for our industry and want to help educate underwriters how to better understand the unique risk profile of each marina facility".

After working in marina operations for five years, Pelagic Director, Marcus Carr has been brokering for over a decade and is well place to provide personal advice to marinas on how to identify their risks, understand their significance and how to adequately cover their assets and liabilities. He explained, "With access to over 100 insurer markets, we can recommend the best insurance solutions. Important to us is providing exceptional and responsive, personal service when it comes to claims, which for any broker, is the real 'moment of truth'".

Davies commented that becoming an industry sponsor is "a great way for suppliers to remain 'top of mind' and to ensure exposure in our growing industry". In a recent MIA Member survey, it was reported that nearly 70 per cent of members would actively consider MIA sponsors when making purchasing and acquisition decisions.
