The fleet enjoyed fine conditions crossing Biscay and many were delighted to spot both whales and dolphins along the way. A'assifa led the fleet and after 557.3nm, they were first to cross the line in Baiona, at just after 09.00 local time. They had completed the passage from Plymouth in less than three days - what an incredible effort team A'ssifa! Northern Light ll crossed the line 12.5 hours later, having travelled 559.7nm; shortly followed by Infinity of Yar, having completed 576.2nm. The last of the fleet arrived just before dark on Thursday, in squally conditions. It was good to see everyone safely moored at the Monte Real Club de Yates, although stepping on to land, a few crew did suffer with wobbly legs!

Friday was spent resting and exploring Baiona, before joining together for a Welcome Sangria at the Monte Real Club de Yates, where Event Manager Andrew Pickersgill welcomed crews and congratulated them on their successful crossings. A tasty Spanish tapas meal with local wine at Recuncho Mariniero followed, and by the end of the evening. many crews had made new friends and planned to get together again soon. In fact for some, the 'get together' was immediately after the crew supper... rumour has it that dancing went on in another local establishment until the early hours!

On Saturday participants enjoyed a day trip to Santiago de Compostela. They were met by two guides, who gave a very interesting commentary as they explored the museum; the famous plazas, busy with pilgrims having completed their walks or cycle rides to the town; and of course, the stunning Cathedral de Santiago. Many tapas bars were explored, and some souvenirs bought, in the beautiful streets of the 'Old Town'.

Sunday's Prize Giving event will bring the long-anticipated results of the fun competition from Plymouth. After crossing the finishing line, skippers uploaded their finishing time and motoring hours, using a QR code given to them at check in at Plymouth. After time correction factors are considered, who knows, there may be some surprises waiting?
