Marine Police continue to enforce scallop catch limits, which ensure divers only take their fair share, leaving scallops in the water for future seasons.
Fishers are reminded that the scallop on-water possession limit and daily bag limit is 50. This means you cannot dive in the morning, take your 50 bag limit then take more scallops later that day. You can dive the next day providing you do not exceed the possession limit of 100 scallops anywhere in Tasmania.
During the Easter break, the Police issued a number of fines to fishers for exceeding catch limits and taking undersize scallops.
