Local Manufacturing industries in Australia should blossom after radio communication company GME invested millions.

True business success isn’t simply about growth, excellence and market prominence. It’s about all of these and
something more: an investment in the people and the country who built its success. GME, one of Australia’s oldest radio communications companies, understands this.

A leader in land-based and marine communications equipment, emergency signalling beacons and television
signalling equipment, GME has recently invested in a new, purpose-built head office complex in north-western
Sydney. This exciting development marks the company’s dedication to staying local – A unique attitude in the face of industry trends to outsource manufacturing to offshore destinations.

GME’s new, state-of-the-art Winston Hills facility will enable the privately owned Australian company to grow its
already considerable share of the radio communications market. The new headquarters houses the industry’s latest in 10-head surface mount machinesand an impressive range of world-class machinery – ensuring unrivalled quality and cost competitiveness.

GME’s General Manager Sales and Marketing, Peter Langbart said 'We maintain our investment in technology and as customer’s needs change, we design radio communication products that continue the tradition of exceptional
performance, innovative features and value for money.'

GME’s significant investment in the Winston Hills headquarters comes at a time when rival Australian and
international companies are outsourcing their production overseas. By keeping the bulk of GME production in
Australia, stringent quality controls are preserved, particulary important when manufacturing vital safety-critical
products like EPIRB and PLB emergency beacons and commercial radio products.

With impressive updates in its production line, the new GME HQ will function as a local manufacturing plant for the company’s wide range of products, maintaining the technical brilliance that defines each product – a cornerstone of GME’s success.

A wholly owned New Zealand subsidiary complements over 2000 accredited Australian resellers who are the
backbone of GME’s domestic presence. In addition to this, distribution partners in more than 40 countries power
GME’s growing international network.

The move from Gladesville to Winston Hills unites GME’s manufacturing, distribution, sales and marketing
departments – including an expanded Research and Development department. The complex will house GME’s dynamic workforce which includes design engineers, factory assemblers and test technicians, in addition to the sales and customer service teams.

From its unassuming origins as Standard Components in Leichardt during the late 1950s, GME adopted its current moniker in 2006 as its international presence grew. The Winston Hills head office is ultra-modern, reflecting the company’s progressive attitude and displays the distinctive red, white and black GME colours.

GME’s move to Winston Hills signifies a thrilling and rare industry development for Australia, the company, its people and its customers. After all, to be a great Australian company, you have to be great to Australia.

Pantaenius Insurance – How good does it get?
Insurance may not be the buzzword. There is not unobtanium for keels, spinach enhanced sails or vibranium fuel cells Insurance may not be the buzzword. There is not unobtanium for keels, spinach enhanced sails or hulls of cut diamond and vibranium fuel cells powering arc reactors to rave on about. No. It is numbers, facts, risk and documentation. Boring? No. Quite the contrary if you happen to have put your boat up on a reef or Hughie blows it off its mooring, smashes her through everything in sight...
