The ongoing social restrictions have halted face to face training in the short term across much of the world. In response the Marina Industries Association (MIA) developed and conducted the first ever Online Intermediate Marina Management (IMM) course with 17 participants in July.

Due to the success of the course the Global Marina Institute (GMI) has endorsed the delivery of a second online IMM in November 2020. The timing will allow marina industry personnel from across the regions from Europe, the Middle East and Asia to undertake the course from your work desk. Participation will ensure your management and operational skills are being enhanced and your career is moving forward.

The GMI IMM course has become an essential qualification in the career progression in the global marina industry. It is recognised by the British Marine (BM), the Association of Marina Industries (AMI) in USA and the MIA. The course provides marina personnel in a leadership position with fast-track learning in the critical issues of marina operations and management. It is also an essential course in a career path leading to the globally recognised Certified Marina Manager, Certified Marina Operator and Certified Marina Professional qualifications.

What to expect from the course

This course will be Self-Directed Blended Learning with online live sessions with industry experts and industry veteran presenters.

Students will also engage in weekly group activities. As such students will be given 3 modules each week to read and understand and will sign in for a live online session twice a week with the presenters the week after to discuss the topic and Q&A and participate in group activities.

This course will cover the following topics:

  • Emergency Management
