Retractable cleats enhance the safety and appearance of any boat, but their required deck cut-outs may not be possible if there are bulkheads, electrical runs or other elements beneath. An easy DIY alternative is the Surface Mount Folding Cleat from Accon Marine. It offers similar operation to Accon's patented Pop-Up Cleat by springing into action when needed, yet needs no cutting for installation.

Made from marine-grade cast 316 stainless steel for extreme corrosion resistance and exceptional durability, the Surface Mount Folding Cleat comes in 89mm, 114mm, 152mm and 203mm sizes. Stud-mount and through-bolted versions suit almost any installation scenario. A spring-loaded mechanism locks the Accon cleat down when not in use, then flips it up into action with the push of a button.
