Bayliss Boatworks construction update: Bayliss 75'
by John Bayliss 10 Jun 2020 18:23 UTC
This month brought great progress for our 75' build. At the end of May, the hull jig was constructed. Our hull carpentry crew will now begin shaping the bow stem, closely followed by in the installation of the chine, sheer, and stringers.
The cabin has been coated in adtech and sanded down in preparation for fairing. Flybridge construction is now complete in three layers of core-cell and will soon be glassed, faired and secured to the top of the cabin. A time saving strategy unique to this build, we have cut the recesses for rod lockers on the flybridge before securing the bridge to the cabin. The fabrication of the center console is nearly complete.
Stay tuned for more progress on the hull jig, as well as the installation of the flybridge on the cabin later this month.
