Bayliss Boatworks construction update: Salty Tiger - Bayliss 62'
by John Bayliss 7 Apr 2020 15:04 UTC
With Salty Tiger returned to the make-ready bay with her full paint complete, our interior carpentry crew wasted no time getting back onto the vessel to begin cabinetry installations.
Within the galley, lower cabinetry has been installed. Upper cabinetry installations within the galley also began at the month's end. The galley floor was patterned and fabrication of the cork floors is now under way inside our interior carpentry shop. Our electrical crew just completed AC and DC wire runs and panel installations.
Within the lower levels, the staterooms are steadily being outfitted with teak furniture. The master stateroom has received its bunk, nightstands, dresser and hanging locker.
The guest and crew staterooms have received their bunks, dressers and hanging lockers. Vanities and shower doors are now being installed within the heads and our mechanical crew has completed the shower and sink plumbing in each head.
In late March, the transom artwork was completed. Now our paint crew will apply nearly a dozen coats of clear coat to protect the transom.
Within the heavy metalworks shop, our crew is developing patterns for the rub rail which will be fabricated soon. Our mechanical crew is preparing to install the ice maker and watermaker inside the engine room companionway. Over the course of the next month, fabrication of everything from tackle room cabinets to the salon door will take place within our cabinetry shop.
