After 10 years in development, the world's first 300-hp diesel outboard, the Cox Powertrain CXO300 is on display this week at the Seawork International workboat show in Southampton, U.K.

The company says the engine that is in stand PY65 at the show is the final concept of the motor. Sea Trials of the CXO300 will start in October and orders will be taken starting in November with production beginning in the second quarter of 2019.

In a recent conversation for an article on large outboards for our sister publication, Anglers Journal, Michael Peters, president of Michael Peters Yacht Design said, "If anybody manages to do a lightweight diesel outboard of significant power, it will be a game-changer."
