Evinrude® announced today that the award-winning Evinrude iDock joystick piloting system has been selected as Top Product of the Year for 2018 by Boating Industry magazine.

Available on boats with twin Evinrude E-TEC G2 150 through 300 HP engines, the new intuitive, integrated and attainable system is designed to make easy-to-use joystick technology available to more boaters. The all-new iDock allows users to easily maneuver their boat using a joystick for simple docking in even the toughest conditions.

The joystick system lets users side step the boat or pivot in place with total control at their fingertips. Advanced aircraft gyroscope sensor technology makes iDock more intuitive to pilot by automatically compensating for wind and current. If extra power is needed to overcome wind or current, boaters push the stick further into boost position to double the thrust. The simplicity of the system requires much less time to become accustomed to, thus creating a more positive first time boating experience.

"We are honored to receive the designation of 'Top Products' for the newly released Evinrude iDock," said Wendy Wilson, Evinrude manager of public relations. "Our desire has always been to provide boaters with the easiest ownership experience and the release of iDock is no exception. The existing technology already built in to Evinrude E-TEC G2 allows us to release a full-feature joystick system, at a fraction of the price of competitive units, making it a perfect fit for everyone running two engines. Not only are these engines easy to use, Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines are the cleanest outboards available and provide more torque and greater fuel efficiency than comparable four-stroke engines. They are the perfect choice for performance and environmentally conscious boaters all over the world."
