Hi, I'm trying to get Sailwave up and running on a Mac.  I tried loading Crossover (WineHQ) but there wasn't a translation for Sailwave in the list...can anyone out there help me??

I have not tried to use Wine but some time ago invested in VMWare Fusion and Windows XP Professional
Sailwave works perfectly under that - including posting results to our club website

You need to join the sailwave user group (SUG) at < ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/sailwave

Sailwave for Mac is very much problem de jour so I have set up a sub group at < ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/sailwavemac/

Tho that doesn't appear to have many responses so far.

< ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">andrew burnard's guide....

< ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">How to get Sailwave to run on a MAC and solve the font issue

Mac OSX 10.6.6, Sailwave 2.02 Build 6, WineBottler 1.1.44

Goto http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ and download winebottler

You should now have WineBottlerCombo_1.1.44.dmg in your download directory

Double click on WineBottlerCombo_1.1.44.dmg brings up the install package screen, now drag the icon for WineBottler over to the applications folder icon then do the same with the Wine icon

If you open Finder and browse applications Wine and Winebottler should show up at the bottom of the list

Download and save this font

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21219092/sserife.fon

to your /<USER>/Wine Files/Drive_c/Windows/Fonts directory

Run Wine, on your top status bar you should see the Wine icon

Now go and download sailwave

http://www.sailwave.com/download/download.php

In your download directory the Sailwave install should have a Box icon

run the install

Select run directly in and hit go

Sailwave should run through the standard install and finish

In Finder browse to the sailwave.exe

/<USER>/Wine Files/Drive_c/Program Files/Sailwave/sailwave.exe

and double click, Sailwave should start and all dialog boxes should look normal with no font issues

hope this helps

Andrew

I have to say that Sailwave is the only PC Application that I use on my Mac under VMWare and Windows and is now the only possible reason for owning a PC and not a Mac or iPad!!!!!! Sailwave is brilliantly simple and uncomplicated like most Mac applications Big smile

I'm new to Sailwave, and I've volunteered to do scoring for our sailing club. I only have two Macs. I've got Sailwave to run under Crossover. Now I need to get the PC templates for the monohull fleet, multihull fleet, and the Hobie Wave fleet, into Sailwave so I can do scoring. I have our templates, *.blw files on the Mac but I can't get Sailwave to find them.

Long series with high point scoring, if that makes any difference.
