Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Santa's getting in some fishing time before delivering all the presents.  Jarrod Day
Finally, it is only a few weeks until the fat man slips down the chimney, devours all the cookies and milk, leaves a big pile of new rods, reels and tackle and heads back to the North Pole for yet another happy Christmas.

It is December and traditionally we should be experiencing 30 degree temperatures but this year the constant dumping of rain is making me wonder if we will see a white Christmas day rather than a scorching hot one.

Nevertheless, it is the holiday season and while everyone gets their affairs in order before embarking on their holiday destination, I too am in a mad rush to put everything together before taking a little break myself.
Its holiday season, lets all have a good and safe time.  Jarrod Day

This year will be the first time in twenty years that I have actually had the opportunity to head away and holiday with the family over the Christmas/new year period. While I will only have a few days off and commuting to and from work from our holiday destination, it will still be nice to get away and enjoy the beach atmosphere.

To all of our subscribers, I and the rest of the team at fishingboating-world.com wish you the happiest of happy Christmas's and a very safe new year. If you're heading out on the water, play it safe and may all of your fishing be successful.

This week, we take a look at all the large array of useful tools that you can use to make your fishing much easier. Hook removal, rig tying and measuring your catch can all be done right providing you're using the right tools for the job.
Which tools do you use?  Jarrod Day

Lee Brake recalls an interesting fishing trip he had back earlier this year when he was out targeting barramundi. Though he did manage to land the fish, doing so was after he fell out of the boat and battled the fish while semi under the water.
Meanwhile, lee falls overboard.  Jarrod Day

Gary Brown heads off and travelled to the township of Yackandandah in Victoria for work. At first Gary had no idea of where Yackandandah was but after a bit of research on Goggle Maps Gary then realized that it was not far from places like Lake Hume, Lake Dartmouth and the Mitta Mitta River. All of which he had fished a number of years ago chasing trout on fly and golden perch and Murray cod. What Gary found out once at Yak is that there is some amazing fishing too be had by all.
Yakandanda delivers some fine fish for Gary.  Jarrod Day

Until next week,

Jarrod Day, FishingBoating-World Editor

Fighting from beneath the waves
Lee Brake,
The world suddenly went silent and as I looked above me I could see a line of bubbles and the little glass rod, dubbed 'Greeny', silhouetted against the shimmering surface of the water above. Even a metre below the surface I was still going through the motions and I desperately turned the reel's handle to retrieve the slack I had created with my fall from the deck of the Jezebel.... Make the job an easier one, get a tool
Jarrod Day,
Fishing isn't all just about the catch and release of a fish, though it may be the bulk of it, but when we dissect and analyze a typical days fishing it goes something like this: Petrol, check, Bait, check, rods/reel, check, tackle, check, food and water, check and that's then followed by launching and an epic session catching the fish you were targeting....
