Jarrod Day | Finally, it is only a few weeks until the fat man slips down the chimney, devours all the cookies and milk, leaves a big pile of new rods, reels and tackle and heads back to the North Pole for yet another happy Christmas.
It is December and traditionally we should be experiencing 30 degree temperatures but this year the constant dumping of rain is making me wonder if we will see a white Christmas day rather than a scorching hot one.
Nevertheless, it is the holiday season and while everyone gets their affairs in order before embarking on their holiday destination, I too am in a mad rush to put everything together before taking a little break myself.

This year will be the first time in twenty years that I have actually had the opportunity to head away and holiday with the family over the Christmas/new year period. While I will only have a few days off and commuting to and from work from our holiday destination, it will still be nice to get away and enjoy the beach atmosphere.

Lee Brake recalls an interesting fishing trip he had back earlier this year when he was out targeting barramundi. Though he did manage to land the fish, doing so was after he fell out of the boat and battled the fish while semi under the water.

Gary Brown heads off and travelled to the township of Yackandandah in Victoria for work. At first Gary had no idea of where Yackandandah was but after a bit of research on Goggle Maps Gary then realized that it was not far from places like Lake Hume, Lake Dartmouth and the Mitta Mitta River. All of which he had fished a number of years ago chasing trout on fly and golden perch and Murray cod. What Gary found out once at Yak is that there is some amazing fishing too be had by all.
