Dangerous conditions are expected on Sunday 19 May on most of NSW coast.
A cold front is close to the northern border, and a high pressure system centred south of the Bight extends a ridge to the east. The front will move over the Tasman Sea Saturday night making way for the slow-moving high, which is expected to become the dominant feature for coming week.
Where
On Sunday on the Byron, Coffs and Macquarie coasts there will be seas of 3 to 4 metres and southerly swells of 3 metres.
On Sunday on the Hunter, Sydney and Illawarra coasts there will be seas of 2.5 metres and southerly swells of about 3 to 4 metres.
BOM is warning that on all these waters surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.
Swell period
Swell period will be around 8 to 10 seconds.
