The official Youtube channel for the 36th America's Cup has finally been launched 15 months after the conclusion of the 35th America's Cup in Bermuda.

It would seem that the official channel will also feature some content from the Challengers and the Defender that is common interest to both. As well the four teams currently entered in the event have their own channels linked to the America's Cup Youtube channel on the official page.

The new channel has content accumulated since Emirates Team New Zealand won the trophy on June 26, 2017, however there is no content from the 2010, 2013 or 2017 series which was previously available on the America's Cup channel but was removed at the end of July, one month after the win by the New Zealand team.

Both the current and past Defender blame each other for the take down, which was contrary to the provisions of the Protocol governing the 35th America's Cup, and the basis on which the video of the participating teams was shot. The takedown of racing and media conferences and other material caused holes in sailing and news website content of sites which had included the embedded code for the various videos produced and available on the America's Cup Youtube channel until July 2017.

Similarly with the America's Cup Facebook page which came online on August 24, 2017 - however because of the apparent intransigence between the previous America's Cup holders and the current holder the America's Cup Facebook site only has 2900 followers and not the 400,000 followers built up up by previous America's Cup Matches, and expected to be passed onto the the new organisers of the same event.

One of the videos available on the new America's Cup Youtube channel is the full presentation of the America's Cup Overture held in Cowes, Isle of Wight, Emirates Team New Zealand, Luna Rossa Challenge, NYYC American Magic and INEOS Team UK, the four teams contesting the 36th America's Cup presented by Prada. Also presented was the America's Cup trophy in its brand new Prada case, along with the new 36th America's Cup logo and the dates for the 36th America's Cup Match, between 6th - 21st March 2021.
