Marine Auctions - register online Marine Auctions
Thinking of selling your boat or buying your next one? Marine Auctions are the way to go for market value, added reach and global interest.

Marine Auctions are the alternative way of selling any type of vessel or marine asset, with proven successful results throughout Australia, and now, the world, asserts director, Adrian Seiffert.

'It’s economical and accessible to anybody, wherever they happen to be,' says Seiffert. 'Especially over the summer when people are on holidays, or travelling. It means that if they’re too far from the auction centre, they can sell and bidding on their phone or laptop, with absolute confidence as we are the faces behind the site.'

John Ferrett handles the online auctions for Marine Auctions, joining the company from a background in running an auction firm specialising in IT.

'Online auctions broaden a boat’s reach to the world. It’s a win-win for vendor and customer. It reduces costs, opens up the market to more people, increases competition which gets better prices for the vendor, which leads to happy vendors who in many cases, go on to buy another boat.'

The use of webcams facilitates the process and the website, marineauctions.com.au contains thorough descriptions, images and details on all boats on offer. Buyers all over Australia, and the world, can see the boats, watch the auction as it happens and bid online.

Pre-loved (used) boats are enjoying buoyant sales, according to Seiffert, who says ‘there’s one to suit everybody'.
'People entering boating for the first time, those getting back in to it after many years, even long-time boaties are looking around for the best buys and finding pre-loved is the way to go. That’s how they buy their cars, their homes, their clothing, so it makes sense that they are confident to buy second-hand boats from a reputable, reliable source.'

The next online auction commences on Friday25 January and ends 3pm Thursday 31 January.

The next traditional on-site auction will take place at Rivergate Marina, Brisbane, 10am Saturday9 February 2013.
'We are currently accepting entries for both auctions,' says Seiffert. 'Being the first of the year, there are some good boats coming in already, including a 2005 57ft Bertram with a tuna tower, a good, low hour boat.'

Other craft include a new 2012 Oceancraft Centre Console on a brand new Seatrail trailer, used 36’ air dock, approximately seven years old with a 9 ton capacity, Queensland license plates 'BOATING' that would be a valuable personalised plate for any boatie to have on his or her car, an immaculate 1999 Rogers North Reef Catamaran, 2005 7.6m Powercat Partycat that has recently undergone full refurb including hardtop upgrade, full set of new camper covers, hot water, fully detailed and newly antifouled, an Avon 6m RIB with Volvo Turbo Diesel Inboard/Outboard and centre console, plus many more.

Remember, on a boat you’re encased in the stuff. It’s a bit like being in a single garage with wires in all the roof and wall cavities, as well as the floor.”

They could be local, from nearby or way farther afield and it is definitely not a sense of the macabre that draws them in. Rather, it is fascination and wonder, because for the sweeping majority, this is as close as they will ever get to Mother Nature’s marvels of the deep.

Pantaenius Insurance – How good does it get?
Insurance may not be the buzzword. There is not unobtanium for keels, spinach enhanced sails or vibranium fuel cells Insurance may not be the buzzword. There is not unobtanium for keels, spinach enhanced sails or hulls of cut diamond and vibranium fuel cells powering arc reactors to rave on about. No. It is numbers, facts, risk and documentation. Boring? No. Quite the contrary if you happen to have put your boat up on a reef or Hughie blows it off its mooring, smashes her through everything in sight...
