Fly low with Undertow!

by Jeni Bone on 25 Mar 2013
Undertow - awesome fun for pros and amateurs alike. .. ©
About the most fun you can have underwater, the Undertow Sea Scooter is a powerful underwater propulsion vehicle that is safe and reliable and utterly thrilling for all ages and skill levels.

The man behind the Undertow is Jack Richardson, director at JR Nautical, based in Queenscliff VIC, who first came across a similar product while working on a 150ft superyacht in the US.

'It was one of the toys onboard,' he recounts. 'Then when I came home to Australia, the only brand available was expensive and not accessible for the general market. We have an agent in China for our other products, so we used him to find some options and once we had samples, we narrowed it down from six to the Undertow. The price was right, specs right and it was the most reliable and best performing product out of all of them.'

The Undertow Sea Scooter is perfect for recreational exploring, snorkelling, scuba divers, at home in the pool, or at the beach.

'There is no training or licenses required, and it can be used by people aged from eight and over. It’s great! You have two speeds and you literally hang on, point it and go!'

The Undertow has been popular with all age brackets and walks of life, from kids playing in the pool and at the beach, to professional divers looking to get down deeper, quicker.

'If you don’t have to swim, you use less oxygen and energy and can stay down longer. If you kick as well, you absolutely fly!'
